What better way than to try out this new trend: formal separates. When shopping for the event, it doesn't have to be buy-a-dress-and-you're-done, it can be mix-and-match-fun! (We're cheesy poets, and we know it.) This new trend is everywhere. You can be the girl owning this new trend. Plus, you'll get to add a little more of your personality to your ensemble, celebrating who you are. And we absolutely LOVE that. And when you buy an evening dress, how many times will you wear it again? Rarely. We like options, and this trend allows us endless possibilities.

• Make sure your top is of the same fabric or a contrasting fabric. You don't want to wear a cotton t-shirt with a taffeta skirt.
• If your feet will be showing, you've gotta up the shoe game. Make sure your heels add to your ensemble, not downplay it.
• Don't be afraid to mix patterns or colors. Dressing yourself is one of the easiest ways to show who you truly are. Don't dress for anyone else, but you.
